Washington January 18 Sinclair a private investor and head of Sinclair oil refused to produce Hyva corporation records for the Senate investigation. He said he would testify on operations but would not release records beyond the subject under inquiry. The clash over Hyva records followed Teapot Dome questions as the committee pressed for access to documents and testimony regarding price changes in crude oil and petroleum products.
Funeral services for C J Coste, who died after an illness, are set for 8 15 this morning at the Cathedral of St Trelena. Burial will follow in Resurrection cemetery. Monotuln, T. T. Dec. 26. Forrester Brown, Bishop Museum botanist, reports conclusive proof from Marquesas that Polynesian race originated in southern Asia. He traveled months studying the Marquesas and notes some Marquesan food plants came from the American continent before European contact. The Marquesas were part of a back and forth voyage between Asia and America.
Prof. Brown discusses how Marquesan food plants may trace to semi tropical Central America and Southeast Asia via Malay, Java and India.
