State Finance Department Bill Coming
Legislation to establish a state finance department, one of Sam C. Ford's key 1948 recommendations, will be introduced early next week. Gov Ford called it the major reorganization bill and said it will be reviewed by Senate and House committees over the weekend before likely Monday or Tuesday introduction. The plan would name the state accountant as executive officer of the board of examiners and create three divisions: purchasing and old property control, accounting and budget control, and personnel administration. A follow up proposal to create a personnel administration civil service for state employees would complete the department setup.

Body of Missing Mail Carrier Found Near Great Falls
Great Falls January 16. Highway patrolmen found the body of Pat Fish about 60 near U S Highway 92 Northwest of Great Falls.
