Three Die in Car Crash Near Aztec New Mexico

Miss Rose Palmer daughter of J N Palmer of Farmington New Mexico Miss Merle Smoak daughter of O T Smoak of Farmington and Talbot Taylor of Farmington were killed when the car returning from a basketball game left the road four miles south of Aztec New Mexico and crashed into a tree two others were badly hurt early today.

Memorial ceremony to be held in supreme court room

Associate Justice Albert J. Galen announces a memorial service in the supreme court room at 10 o'clock on the morning of Thursday February 4 under the Montane Bar association. Judge Joseph R. Jackson of Butte and president of the Montana Bar association was asked to speak but will be absent in New York and will designate a substitute.

Locomotive Blast Kills Two in Huntington Area

A boiler explosion aboard a Chesapeake and Ohio freight Mallet engine in Hurricane near Huntington, West Virginia, kills engineer J. D. Roche of Huntington and brakeman D. P. Stebbins Elected Secretary of Montana Wool Growers

Murray A. Stebbins of Glasgow was unanimously elected full time secretary of the Montana Wool Growers Association at a directors and executive committee meeting held yesterday afternoon at the National Wool Exchange in the Placer hotel building. He succeeds H. H. Pigott, who resigned after years in the post. Stebbins will operate from the wool exchange and begin immediate efforts to expand membership across the state, with financing arranged. Plans for the annual meeting, likely in Helena, were discussed.

Manic World War veteran confesses premeditated murder

Forsyth Montana January 9. Peter Jacobi rancher and his niece Miss Mathilda Natseh were murdered for robbery after a confession by Arthur Thomas Mlesterly, a World War veteran who escaped a Knowville Iowa insane asylum in 1924. Mlesterly’s latest statements describe selecting the Jacobi ranch as the crime scene and killing the victims in December.

Nogales Arizona January 9 Special dispatches report rains and floods in Nayarit Mexico subsiding after a historic disaster. Estimated losses put deaths around 300 and property damage between 3,000,000 and 5,000,000 pesos. Seven small villages along the Santiago river were wiped out and thousands of cattle perished.
