Mount Clemena Mich Feb 15 Captain Clearton H Reynolds 42 commander of the 15th reconnaissance squadron at Selfridge Field died today from injuries after his car struck a concrete guard rail near the field entrance as he drove to the officers club for a dance. Ship of Glass Sinks All Safe in Florida Waters
Sixty three passengers were removed from the glass-bottom excursion boat New River as it sank in Bear Cut between Fisher's Island and Virginia Key south of Adams Beach. The rudder struck a sand bar causing the glass to crack and water to flood the deck. Passengers were rescued by airplanes from the Vanderbilt estate, speed boats, and small craft along the Coconut Highway. No one was injured. The 70 foot vessel operated Miami to Marine Gardens and returned to port when the accident occurred.

The vessel left San Francisco and was bound for Portland with about 40 passengers aboard.
