Buick Engine and Brakes Set the Pace in England
At the Olympia show in England British engines favored valve-in-head designs with 70 percent of displays. Four wheel mechanical brakes dominated car classes, with 97 percent having mechanical brakes and no vacuum hydraulic systems evident. Open and closed body styles appeared with a tilt toward two tone finishes as manufacturers unveiled new valve-in-head engines. Buick Nas featured this setup, with rear-wheel brakes adopted as standard, reflecting a shift in European auto engineering trends.
