Each to receive 2000 dollars per year for two years at Oxford with option for third year.
Nelena women campaign to raise 450 dollars to buy and deed the Gilpatrick cabin to Helena as a pioneer museum. A December 22 auction will decide its fate with 164 dollars already donated from an old chamber of commerce trust and local civic leaders coordinating the effort.

Hundreds of friends paid last respects to W A Campbell 37 longtime editor of The Nelena Independent at simple services in the Opp and Conrad chapel. He died early Thursday in Washington after a lingering illness. Graveside rites were by Ottawa lodge No 171 A F and A M Marysville. Pallbearers included John G Brown E G Toomey Dr B E H Lindstrom and Justice Sam V Stewart.
Cleveland December 17. A quest for life’s spark led Dr George W Crile to Guatemala tracing a 1887 case from a streetcar crash in which intern William Lydman, a healthy student, died after leg amputation and shock. The surgeon sought what remained intact in life.
Great Falls Dec 17 National figures have been named as possible speakers for a January event to raise funds for the Democratic national and state committees. Arthur Lames of Barre and Dr H J McGregor disclosed a list including Senators O M of Wyoming and Schwellenbach, Alben Barkley, Chester Davis, M L Wilson, and others. An advisory state committee with leaders from Butte Helena Billings Missoula Havre and Miles City was announced.
Lima Dec 17 Heads of leading Pan American delegations failed to agree on a continental solidarity measure. The Argentine representative refused US viewpoint while Secretary Hull urged acceptance of the American project. The meeting adjourned without action and will be resumed next week.
The U S circuit court ruled for Smits Engineering of Kansas City in a $340000 dispute over an oil refinery project near Billings Montana. It voided a lower judgment against Smits and reversed several other awards while allowing $95146 to be paid for the unrecovered Jalanca contract.
Lisanne Switzerland December 12 Mme Jose Maria Sert sister of the tragic Georgian Mdivani Princes died in a Lausanne hospital after a long illness. She was in her thirties and funeral services were held in a Lausanne church with burial in a nearby provincial Swiss cemetery. She was married to Spanish painter Tragedy which shaped the Moivants family’s colorful life.
In Buenos Aires hundreds of youths aged high school to college organize to alert Argentina's 12 million people to supposed perils of U S imperialism. They are aided by fascist-era tactics, train in German and Italian styles, and protest President Roosevelt's good neighbor policy despite police bans. The Nationalist Youth Alliance, linked to the Argentina Civic Legion, emerges from historical fascist currents in a nation with a fluctuating political history.
Washington December 17 President Roosevelt and Vice President Garner discussed the congressional outlook in a White House meeting amid talks the chief may use a national defense theme to heal party rifts. Garner departed capital with light remarks, while reporters noted possible ties to Farley and solid GOP style. The White House described a broad briefing on foreign policy with no further details.
