A new hat selling scheme surfaced in New York described as a girl guiding men to pick hats. A diary advertising attractive young women allegedly triggered the plan, with about 400 girls waiting at the doorway when offices opened.

Lewistown December 14 A TT processing tax on wool could strike a blow to Montana sheep business Congressman Toy KB Ayers warned after a telegram from Secretary Wallace. He argued the tax would devalue each sheep by about 0 cents and cost nearly 2 million dollars, harming lamb markets and Montana wool buyers. Ayers and his wife plan to fly to Washington mid next week to pursue the issue.

Nozeman December 14. After many years of married life Parker James B. 71 died first at their Relorada home within 12 hours Mrs. Parker 71 died shortly after. The Parkers lived in Yellowstone region for years after 1900 then settled near Gardiner and later moved to Belgrade less than a year.
Ten children died and about thirty were injured when a freight train appeared in heavy fog as a school bus veered onto a crossing near Crescent City Florida. Elderly driver D N Niles had just reached the rural route end at Silver Pond Grove. Several injured were found along the railroad right of way and may not survive.
The senate convened at 10 this morning as three new banking measures were drafted and introduced to remedy defects in prior bills. Legal questions from the Reconstruction Finance Corporation and Governor Couney’s signings prompted swift action to permit banks to issue non assessable preferred stock, with 10 day notices to stockholders for borrowing recovery act funds. The bills aim to authorize solvent banks to issue preferred stock while addressing constitutional objections.

Portland Ore Dec 14 Marehall Wang regional advisor to the public works administration said Oregon Washington Montana and Idaho governors will appoint four men from each state to form a regional planning board. The board will plan expenditure of PWA funds on federal and non federal projects across three districts based on major drainage systems including the Missouri river the Mississippi valley and Puget Sound region.
