In Thomasville Alabama on August 30 a drunken woman disrupted church services but could not be arrested for disturbing worship as she was already jailed nearby. Town Marshal Wilson transported the prisoner in his automobile to finish the service.

Los Angeles, Aug 30. Dewitt Clinton Cook, 20, unemployed printer, pleaded guilty to charges of murdering Anya Sosoyeya, a former folk dancer, and attacking two other young women. He had appeared before the grand jury for Sosovera’s slaying and for assaults on Della Hogard and Myrie Wagner, both 17. He faces court Friday for evidence on degree of murder and connection to possible death penalty.

Louw C Boederker state highway patrol supervisor announced yesterday that all drivers in Montank with two or three traffic violations will be given examinations under a 1997 legislative mandate. About $70 has been collected from offenders and sent to district supervisors statewide. Names will be kept alphabetically. drivers who fail face revocation of licenses and possible fines up to $100 plus 60 days jail. Those who fail may retake exams later.
