New York August 20 Grek Whalen NRA mediator announced after an all night session with workers and employers that a strike of about 100000 dress industry employees has ended. He called it not only a settlement but the wiping out of the sweat shop and cited recognition of collective bargaining, higher wage standards, and shorter hours as key gains. Hours will be cut to 35 per week from as high as 75, affecting over 60 000 workers across New York eastern Pennsylvania parts of New Jersey and Connecticut.

Letters were sent from headquarters to women across 400 cities urging support for social welfare campaigns and private agencies to back the park private social agencies.
