Hardin Taps Montana Power Cutting Local Lighting Costs
Hardin saved money by purchasing electric power from Montana Power in the past year. The city cut street lighting and water pumping bills by 82.64704 while gaining better service and seven more street lights. Rates fell from 22 to 8 cents per kilowatt hour, benefiting businesses and residents. City officials note the bond-financed purchase will quickly cover the cost and likely retire the debt within two to three years if savings are applied to the bond.
