Atlanta reports relief efforts after a deadly tornado outbreak in southern Georgia. At least 47 killed and hundreds injured with many homeless as rescue teams verify deaths, correcting duplications in Metter and Statesboro counts. Federal aid and Red Cross donations sought.
Livingston April 21 AP Members of Park County High School class of 1928 will graduate without a baccalaureate address. The Park Geyner student publication reports the school board discontinued the ceremony claiming it forces religious attendance and is unfair. If confirmed, Park High may be first in Montana or the United States to drop the baccalaureate.
Casper April 27 AP Frank Wilson a missing herder last seen leaving a camp near Alcoya to bale sheep was found alive today after a blizzard driven search. The recovery ends days of concern as Wilson is reported in satisfactory condition.
Hoover aides remain confident President Hoover can win support for the farm aid bill as debate closes. Senator Nye indicated possible opposition to the debenture plan while Senator Frazier backs it, marking a fracture among middle western Republicans. McNary, chairman of the Senate agriculture panel, praised the Norris amendment as the issue moves to a vote.
Pasadena April 27 AP John L Howard Pasadena automobile dealer was charged with murder in a warrant issued in justice court for the slaying of his wealthy partner Ing Victor L Cooley. Howard arraigned with preliminary hearing set for Friday May 3 after he allegedly confessed beating Cooley to death with a hammer during a quarrel over whisky. Police say Howard's affection for Mrs Pearl Cooley, the estranged wife, was a primary motive.
President Hoover fished in Catoctin Preserve and left for Washington after a brief stay. He arrived at 4 PM, fished almost immediately, caught a 1 1 2 pound trout, then departed with Mrs Hoover, Lawrence Richey, Mel Richey, and security detail.
In Mesquite, four miles from Kelly Field, Cadet Wallace W. Wirt died after a crash from 2500 feet while in the advanced flying school. Cadet Hart, son of Mrs. Hare of St Louis, was listed among those involved. details released today by the academy.
J F Forbis a longtime Montana lawyer and former chief counsel for Anaconda Copper Mining died in Portland. Born 1865 in Missouri he came to Montana in 1884 trained under judge Hamilton Knowles in Helena and Butte. He directed Amalgamated Copper and Boston and Montana in major mining litigation against Heinz Interests over ore titles in the Butte region. He moved to Oregon 22 years ago from Butte and lived there since.
Denver high school pupils through a joint student body council have adopted a resolution endorsing President Hoover's stand for law enforcement and pledged themselves to observe the law. The covenant states that wherever there is a law to be observed it shall be observed, to be signed by the representatives of five city high schools.

Evansville Indiana April 27 AP Police investigate the shooting of Mrs Owen Conrad a divorcee and Miss Margaret Maley who shared an apartment. Both are prominent and the party broke up around 1 am. Miss Maley said Mrs Conrad brandished a revolver and in the struggle a bullet struck Miss Maley and Mrs Conrad then shot herself. Mrs Conrad mother of a 9 year old child is rumored to be in England.
Colorado Springs April 27. Thomas B Lewie held in custody in Tecumseh Oklahoma after months of pursuit in the Lomer Cota bank robbery. Four people were killed in the holdup. Tecumseh police chief announced the arrest tonight.
The Mississippi River flooded about 26 000 acres of farmland in the Quincy area and opened dykes protecting 27 000 acres near Murphysboro. Rivers rose from Chester to the gulf while flood crests approached St Louis basements and surrounding counties.
Mex bombs struck Ciudad Obregon on Thursday afternoon as government planes targeted rebels. One bomb crashed through the rear of the U S consulate, causing debris and dust to fill the room. No injuries were reported by Vice Consul Earl W. Eaton.
New York April 27 AP Daniel De Jackting president of Utah and Nevada Consolidated Copper Companies said before sailing for Europe that copper consumption in the past five months showed no over production. He noted rising demand and predicted the industry would stay prosperous with copper prices near 18 cents a pound for some time.
Three American missionaries in China were killed by bandits. Rev Father Clement Seybold of Dunkirk New York, Rev Godfrey Nordbein of Baltimore, and Rev Walter Coryelyou of Petoskey Michigan, all connected with the Human Catholic Mission, were reported dead after an April 34 incident near Chenki in Hunan province. The men had been warned as nationalist and Wuhan forces clashed in the area.

Missoulin April 27 A man named Leo Ming, 70, was killed near Garrison when a bull working on an irrigation ditch charged from behind, trampled and gored him to death before he could warn others. The incident occurred on Ming’s farm as he tended the ditch.
The Senate Judiciary Committee deferred a decision on Senator Norris's report accusing Secretary Mellon of illegally holding office.
