A 16 year old boy confessed to starting 24 fires across five days as authorities investigated a spate of blazes. The admissions come amid a broader crime wave being reviewed by police and local officials seeking to curb arson activity.
Thomas Gorman, 26, a Port Washington real estate dealer, is distraught after failing to locate his bride to be Natalia Guggenheim, 14. His searches in New York and failed calls to the Guggenheim home heighten fears she may already be sent to Europe aboard a ship that was later found to have had its suite canceled.

Washington April 17 The Senate Agriculture Committee authorized Chairman McNary to include the export debenture plan in the farm relief bill. The move aims to complete a tentative draft and report the bill for Senate discussion Monday. House leaders expect to strike the debenture plan if it reaches their side, with action to continue on Page Two.
Illinois dry legislators supported a resolution for a legislative investigation into the killing of Mrs. Lillian de King during a prohibition raid on her Aurora home. The measure passed 50 to 10. Sheriff Roy Smith was wounded, and Mrs. de King’s 12 year old son shot him after the deputy says she reached for a weapon. Joseph de King, her husband, was knocked unconscious by raiders.
Washington April 17 AP debate over the Federal Reserve Board policy toward curbing speculation triggered a house dispute. A resolution of inquiry by Rep Reid Illinois Republican was sent to the rules committee after Rep Black New York Democrat upbraided the board for what he called overreach in handling investment matters.
New York April 17 AP report Babe Ruth married early today to Mrs Claire Wodgson in St Gregorys Roman Catholic church. Father William J Hughes performed the ceremony. The couple was attended by Mr and Mrs George M Lovell of Scarsdale.
Prohibition Agent Lawrence Tyson testified in a federal court about meeting Helen Morgan at a summer resort where she spoke to him for the first time calling him pie face. He described earlier encounters at the club and an alleged attempt to lure Morgan with his wife as a decoy, amid Miss Morgan's trial for maintaining a common nuisance.
Washington reports the senate judiciary committee spent two hours debating whether Secretary Mellon may continue in the cabinet without renomination and if his role violates prohibitions on a cabinet member's involvement in trade and commerce. The panel adjourned without a ruling.
Two bank robbers entered the College Avenue branch of an Oakland, California bank shortly before closing. They forced two customers to lie on the floor and placed a sum exceeding 10,000 in a suitcase. A getaway car waited outside. one customer lost 500 and the other was searched with no loss.
William Franklin Hanon aged 76 died today in Lewistown after paralysis struck him two weeks earlier. A native of Hannis he gained notice in the 1870s as a government scout and buffalo hunter in Kansas. He was writing a historical work at his daughter Mrs. F. E. Sax’s home when stricken.
Prince Von Priessen son of Germany's former crown prince travels incognito as De Ferdinand across the United States. At age 21 he wears blue denim coveralls and a fireman's cap while riding in a Great Northern engine cab en route to Hollywood for a two week stay. He praises America as vast and friendly and says he has seen only a glimpse of its opportunities before touring South America.
Washington and New York reports say the extra congressional session will not rush the Root proposal for American adherence to the world court. Senate debates may wait for Council review and assembly action while Hoover and Stimson study the new situation. Elihu Root has just returned from Geneva with revisions from jurists.

Canton China April 17 report that U S Foreign Service general Douglas Jenkins advised American missionaries in southern Klangst ave northern Wartime and Fowang provinces to evacuate their posts amid unsettled conditions and growing security concerns.
Sebastian Militti, 16, admitted setting 24 fires since last Thursday, one blaze damaged 36 hotel guests and caused about $25,000 in losses. Insanity charges planned after police, officers, and his father Louie Militti agreed on the approach. Militti previously served time for arson and was released two months ago from the Nebraska State Industrial School.

A group led by Bla and Company New York bankers Arthur W Cullen Chicago financier and the Fisher brothers Detroit automakers are the new dominant interests. Sinclair’s attorney Martin W Littleton says his status as chairman remains unchanged. Rumors of Robert W Stewart becoming chairman were denied by Elisha Walker Blair and Company.
Washington April U7 AP Harry Sinclair petitioned the Supreme Court to reconsider its decision upholding a three month jail term for contempt for refusing to answer questions before the Senate Taft committee. He argues the law as read by the high court is unconstitutional.
Missoula Vird club announced plans to establish a bird sanctuary on the State university campus this spring. The sanctuary will be named in honor of Prof M J Virod, head of the university biology department since 1897. Financing plans are under consideration.
The body of Edmund Cox eight was found in the Cuyahoga River after a three week search. Police believe he fell into Braak neck crack while on his way home from school, the tragedy marking the end of the missing child case.
Sacramento Calif April 17 AP The assembly board of managers announced they would not call Mrs Aimee Semple McPherson as a prosecution witness in the impeachment trial of Superior Judge Carolon S Hardy. The court hurried reading of Minnie Kennedy deposition and McPherson, pastor of Angelus Temple, due to alleged legal relations with the elderly judge. Hardy is charged with taking a $2 500 check from Angelus Temple for legal services while on the bench.
