Bond election set for May 6 to fund rebuilds
The board of trustees of school district No. 1 fixed Tuesday May 6 as the election date for a 160000 bond issue to rebuild Broadwater Jefferson and Emerson elementary schools. More than 20 percent of qualified electors signed petitions and the county clerk certified 580 signatures. Polling places will be Hawthorne Central and Bryant schools. A 40 percent turnout is required, about 1710 voters. The three old buildings aged 49 to 51 years will be razed for new one story four room structures with basements and modern features.
