Pope Pius XII in an Easter message at St. Peter's urged a peace of justice and charity. He warned against dull flashes of war and called nations to act for humanity's dignity and a just distribution of burdens on the road to peace.
In Vatican City on April 3 Pope Man X delivers a solemn homily urging peace amid global unrest. The sermon recalls prophets who warned that peace cannot endure without moral renewal, warning of looming dangers and urging public resolve to seek concord despite fear and dismay. Continued on Page 2.
Paul North of Billings was elected president of the Montana State Junior Chamber of Commerce at the opening sessions of a two day meeting. He succeeds Gerald C. Wentworth of Great Falls. Elected officers include Lino Wood of Bozeman as vice president and Norvell Henrique of Billings as secretary treasurer. Representatives from junior chamber groups at Haveman, Glass Bow, Glendive, Great Falls, Minneola, Shelby, West Point and Billings attended the meeting.

Willow Creek April 9. A family of three died when their Mercury pickup failed to clear an open railroad crossing and was struck by a Milwaukee road freight train. The victims Reynald Pearce age 6 his wife Mrs. Hazel Pearce 45 and their son Reynald Pearce Jr. 9 were on their way home from church. Coroner Nelson said an inquest may be scheduled. the family had moved to Willow Creek from Whitefish Montana in November 1938.
London rumors say Greece and Yugoslavia are next to be gobbled up by Italians as diplomatic talks and urgent polemics bottleneck the week. Foremost figures report pressure on Prime Minister Chamberlain and shift toward Rome Berlin axis, with talks on truck and Turkish independence and possible Anglo Italian pact.
Washington April. The Federal Reserve Board told Senate and Banking committees that monetary and banking authority must be clearly defined to avoid conflict as wartime pressures loom. The board urged Congress to set objectives guiding fiscal and monetary policy and noted the need for emergency monetary action in potential war. It warned that the 16,000 banks face overlapping authority and called for unified supervision to protect public interest.
Duhols Pennsylvania April 9. Panerat services were held for Trend Moray the 16 year old Boy Scout, famed as the largest in the nation. Death due to influenza followed a short illness. He stood six feet eight inches tall at age sixteen and weighed 327 pounds at death. Survived by parents Mr and Mrs Mock Tow eoMminky and 26 brothers and sisters.
Rome dispatch notes Britain seeks details on Italy's Albania occupation and its impact on the European balance. Mussolini may announce Tirana triumph tomorrow with a broadcast and possible ceremony declaring Albania part of the Italian empire. The plan could offer the Albanian crown to King Vittorio Emanuele. Ambassador to Italy meets the Italian foreign minister as coverage continues.
Mirana reports motor columns rolling into Albina to establish fascist rule over the Conquered Tylan Kingdom. Authorities say Albanians welcomed occupation with little resistance as provisional committees submit to Italian order. Count Galaazzo Clue, Premier Muscolinto’s son-in-law, arrived after Steilag’s triumph.
Eighteen months after his daughter arrived just after him Johnny Narfin, veteran pilot on American Airlines Glendale Fort Worth route, again raced the stork in Glendale California. He finished a half hour before the historic bird delivering a son named John W Martin to Mrs Martin.
In April at Salonika Greece the exiled Queen Geraldine and her four day old son Prince Skandar arrived after leaving Florina. They thanked Americans for sympathy in a message via the Associated Press as ministers of the deposed government continued toward Athens. Premier Roc Ketts said the group may go abroad after reaching Thebes.
