Washington April 8 The American government pursues global leadership by inviting the last of 11 nations to send their leading statesmen to confer with President Roosevelt. Secretary Hollindson reiterates the break with prior policy while planning a new cooperative global trade effort.
Washington April 8 A Republican plan to strip broad powers for Secretary Wallace in the farm bill faces a Senate challenge. A special committee draft proposes leasing cotton and grain lands to restore production instead of granting loans, with a plan for up to 9 million acres leased for two years.
A report notes first chances for relief project work will go to Montana residents aged 18 to 21 now registered with relief organizations. T. J. Spaulding, chairman of the relief committee, announced plans and he will travel by plane to Washington to press the program.

Detective Captain Arm Strong said Bennetts wrote letters to the late J S Mullen’s daughter and to broker Charles Koolicher II, claiming it was a prank. Bennetts was arrested and the home guarded. other suspects in a kidnapping case are in custody.
German law redefines race, declaring Jews as a separate class and Aryans sole holders of public office. Jews lose eligibility for civil service posts. some serving Jews may be spared, while post-1918 appointees linked to prior regimes face dismissal after three months' pay.
