Dublin April 5 The new opposition in the Dail wider former President William T. Costrave announced tonight it would vigorously resist policies of President Eamon de Valera insofar as they might tend to weaken the Anglo Irish treaty. Opposition to any policy that might prejudice the Free State's position in the British commonwealth also was voiced by Congrave's party.
Roosevelt and Hoover forces won key New York delegate races to the national conventions. In the 41st district Buffalo area Roosevelt supporters led Alfred E. Smith by about three to one, reflecting a major intra party contest. Republican contests in New York City and Brooklyn produced strong Hoover delegate results.
New York April 5 The American Civil Liberties Union announced it would send a group of lawyers and others to Kentucky to test the right of citizens to travel freely. Arthur Garfield Hays will head the delegation likely including Corliss Lamont Norman Thomas Roger Haldwin Amos Pinchot and Rev John Haynes Holmes all identified with the Union.

Austria's largest aircraft, the A-100, caught fire as it neared Aspern Vienna airport. The pilot managed a controlled landing with two passengers and the crew unharmed. Emergency crews fought the blaze for about two hours. Twelve crew members required medical attention. The plane had arrived from Prague via Vienna.
