Puracah India April 4 A Navy air unit flying over Mt Everent yesterday had two planes. One plane forced down on a field near Kanchamanga a mountain near the state of Dinosaur about six miles from here. No one aboard.
At Fairbury Nebraska on April 4 bandits looted the First National Bank taking 27643 dollars. A furious exchange with officers left seven wounded including a deputy sheriff and two bank employees. A large sedan with out of state plates sped away as civilians and a reporter were also injured. Bank bookkeeper Kell Seaton and traveling salesman Peter Johnson among those struck by gunfire. Washington April 4 President Bonnarelt's public works bill outlined by Chairman Vinnon of the house naval committee would provide 90 new warships costing 32 30 000 000 including 20 destroyers four submarines and two aircraft carriers. It promises initial work within 90 days and aims to employ about 260 000 men directly and indirectly.
The Associated Press reports the U S Navy airship Akron crashed into the Atlantic during a blinding storm off New Jersey. Seventy three crew members were killed, four rescued, including some later dying. Five of seven aboard the small French airship E Nine were rescued though its commander died. High officials aboard, including Rear Admiral Moffett, were missing. The disaster prompted a sunrise search by air and sea for survivors or bodies.
