A department of justice report says Bolton’s office is under investigation while Congressman Leavitt supports him but will not seek renewal. Bolton’s term expires May 1 and may be extended one month as six candidates apply with Flannery leading.

Savings of 235 000 000 through economies are predicted to cover a treasury deficit of 1 241 000 000 in 1933, though later estimates by Secretary Mills trimmed savings to 165 500 000, signaling a deficit of 85 100 000. The bill goes to the Senate inclined to its provisions, with the sales tax controversial in the House vote.
