Geologic Survey Work on Yale District Mines 1912

The 1912 field season surveyed mineralized areas in Yale district and adjacent southwestern British Columbia. It examined gold copper deposits on Kruger Mountain near Okanagan Valley, coal rocks at White Lake, and the Copper Mountain deposits near Princeton with BC Copper Co activity. The report notes supervision of A. M. Batemen in Lil Joet and N. Bowen on Fraser River, plus other duties. Kruger Mountain, along the Interior Plateau, rises about 3,000 feet above Osoyoos Lake, with an open summit forest. The oldest rocks are disturbed stratified micaceous quartzites, schists, greenstones and limestones, metamorphosed by regional and contact activity, with limestone lenses altered to silica rock. The Annchist series correlates with Dawson's Cache Creek (Carboniferous) and hosts ore deposits. Northward, the Anarchist series is intruded by the Osoyoos batholith. apophyses and the batholith altered rocks and likely mineralized them. The south and west show an alkaline plutonic body. other igneous rocks include diabase and lamprophyres. Continued next week.
