A substantial lead of high grade ore was struck in the Big Tunnel on Tuesday. The vein lies about 1,800 feet from the tunnel portal and 818 feet below the surface on the Defiance claim. The ore, resembling Providence mine ore, is valued at more than 100 dollars per unit and signals intensified Boundary ore activity around Greenwood.
The Grand Forks Fruit and Nursery Company acquired a 225 acre Barrell tract and a 100 acre Honsberger tract in the Kettle Valley deal.
