Seven Traffic Accidents During Long Weekend
Robertson county saw seven traffic crashes from Sept 23 to 26 investigated by DPS highway patrolmen Gary Henderson and Haske Lunsford. Five people were injured, none severely. Incidents included a 1972 Ford rollover near Calvert, a car fire south of Rosser, a Buick engine fire, two-car collisions near Franklin, and crashes near Calvert and Easterly with multiple minor injuries and licensure or roadway violations cited.

Thomas Kelly Named Bank Vice President at Planters and Merchants

Council Studies Request For 100 Housing Units
The Hearne city council agreed to decide within 60 days whether to negotiate with the Hearne Housing Authority for a cooperative agreement to sponsor construction of 100 additional low income housing units. Texas Highway Department official District Engineer Joe G Hanover announced thermoplastic edge line striping along 129 miles in District 17.
