Michiel Michie Jr. born June 7 1896 in Northport New York to Virginian and Pennsylvanian parents. He moved to Charlottesville Virginia, attended the University of Virginia earning A B H and later law degrees. He served as a lieutenant in World War I with time in Italy and France then returned to Charlottesville to practice law. He joined the American Legion in Charlottesville Albemarle Post 74 and rose to commander of the Virginia Department in 1924.
