Open Season Dove Hunting Opens Amid Busy First Day

Open season for doves began Monday at noon with many hunters in action across the city. Reports cite Odis Little, Clark Gable, Charlie Miller and Henry Youngblood bagging the limit of ten birds, while others like Rev. T. Miller Smith and Roy Henry also noted captures. Several hunters questioned the new afternoon limit hours, but Ross Seale the game warden urged compliance as shells sold briskly and drought left many doves small and lean.
