Conner to Help Plan Paris Legion Convention Vote
Benjamin W. Conner, commander of the American Legion department of France, framed a push to move the 1927 Legion national convention to Paris amid talks to celebrate the armistice tenth anniversary. National Commander James A. Crain named a Virginia group led by John D. Wicker to study the migration, with Conner and French department associates bearing major responsibilities if Paris is chosen. Conner, a Kentucky-born lawyer, served in World War I and held posts with the American Chamber of Commerce in France, the American Navy League in France, and the American Hospital board of trustees.
