A May 25 public hearing at Hearne City Hall will review the Mid-City Urban Renewal Project. The plan centers on an overpass over Market Street and the Southern Pacific tracks on Brown Street. Robertson County voters backed Yarborough over Bentsen for the U S Senate and Sadler for Land Commissioner in the May 2 Democratic Primary. Since no candidate secured a majority in key races, runoffs are scheduled June 6 for Precinct Six Justice of the Peace and Precinct Four Commissioner. County totals include Harris 3418 and Perkins 235 for Peace, and Sam Abraham 483 vs Herman White 381 for Commissioner. County officials Reagan, McCormick, Mathews, Bienski, and others were re elected or won uncontested.
