19 Year Old Aggie Jumper Dies In Free Fall
Denald William Luhr a 19 year old Texas A M sophomore from Dallas and member of the A M Parachute Club plunged to his death at Hearne Municipal Airport Saturday morning during a practice free fall. He waited too long to pull the ripcord as only the drogue chute opened. Luhr had 17 jumps and was experienced, but the reserve chute failed to save him. The fatality is the club's first in five years, as members prepared for the National Collegiate Parachute Meet in Oklahoma.

Hearne FFA 4 H Stock Show Set for April 1
Hearne Future Farmers members begin selling ads for the 1967 Robertson County FFA and 4-H Livestock Show and Auction. The event will be held Saturday April 1 near the Hearne Rodeo Arena on Highway 100, with poultry rabbit hogs and beef cattle judging at 8 am and a 2:30 pm auction featuring 32 calves 11 butcher hogs three pens of rabbits and three pens of poultry. Proceeds fund a new metal livestock building. last year’s auction brought $11,957.52 including $2,020.15 in resales.

Hearne Eagle baseball coach Ken Batson and Lettermen will join Hearne Rotary Club at Thursday lunch in the community center.
