Texas approves personalized license plates with a ten dollar fee plus regular registration. The measure could raise up to five million dollars for the General Fund, reserving one plate per applicant and restricting renewals by January 1. Applications go to the Motor Vehicle Division in Austin with full owner and vehicle details and a specific allowed letter and number format.

Students Return From Baylor Summer Music Camp
Donna Garrison and Bill Holt Jr returned from Baylor University in Waco where they joined about four hundred students in intensive band study at a Summer Music Camp. Both were named to the Gold Band, which had 70 members. Donna earned the Joan Phillip Sousa award 1965 at Hearne High School.
