Jay Martine Receives Air Force Commendation Medal
M/Sgt. Jay L. Martine earned the Air Force Commendation Medal at Blytheville Air Force Base Arkansas for meritorious service while at Kadena Air Base Okinawa. He now serves with the 97th Airborne Missile Maintenance Squadron in Blytheville and is a 1953 Hearne High School graduate, son of Louis and Mrs. Cole of Hearne. His wife Virginia is daughter of W. M. Hawkins of Walnut Illinois.

Ten years ago the Hearne Chamber of Commerce directed sponsorship of Western Week with Marlin Jentsch as president. Robertson County voters backed W. T. McDonald for Judge of the Court of Criminal Appeals with 1,196 Democratic primary runoff votes to 110 for Lloyd W. Davidson. Hearne voters also chose C. E. Brown as Precinct 2 constable with 265 to 192 for W. D. White as renovations began on city hall council room featuring a semi circular table at the north end.

Bremond Rites For Mrs Kubiak
Final rites for Mrs John Kubiak 78 were held at St Marys Catholic Church Bremond with Rev B V Zientek as celebrant. She died Monday June 1 and is buried in St Marys Cemetery. Survivors include husband Marion and Frank of Houston daughters Annie Wichkoski Vergie Wisnoski Agnes Lero Bryan, 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Bremond Rites For S Brezina At St Marys Church
Funeral services for Steve Frank Brezina 77 of Bremond were held at St. Marys Catholic Church with Rev Louis Wozniak officiating. Interment followed in St Marys Cemetery. Brezina died Wednesday in a Waco hospital after a career as a farmer and church member. He was born August 8 1892 in Galicia Austria and came to the United States in 1897. He married Sophia Berz bicki in 1915 and lived in Reagan before moving to Bremond in 1966. Survivors include his widow five sons four daughters 25 grandchildren and a brother.
