A large circle of friends witnessed the June 1 wedding at the home of Mr and Mrs W G Curry Wheelock uniting Sallie Curry to Prof C D Eaves with Rev E J Payne of Kosse officiating The ceremony featured music by Lena Killough and Lizzie Curry and a maid of honor Leeta Curry The couple's reception followed with bridal cake and brick cream served. the groom is Prof R L Eaves of Grapeland and the bride is praised for her popularity.
The couple received many gifts and departed by night train for Galveston and points south. After September 1 they will reside in Hamlin, Texas, where the groom serves as school superintendent. Out-of-town guests included Dr. and Mrs. W. G. Drummond and others from Grapeland Bremond Normangee Hearne and Rosse among many attendees.
Judd Mortimer Lewis writes from Houston Post praising the marriage of Marguerite Felton Lane of Hearne to John Massey Gatling of Caldwell Texas on June 3. He wishes their happiness mirrors that of the Lane and Lewis families.
Baptist News notes Ruth Williams and Marie Luke left for Houston to visit family and study. Amelia Harding departed for Corsicana with others joining a tent meeting led by Dr. C A Ridley. Robert M Chambers left for Hickman Kentucky. The weekly meeting runs 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. daily with Sunday service at 11. Attendees urged to invite others and pray for all. The pastor signs off inviting participation and praising the prayers’ power.

Marguerite Felton Lane daughter of Judge and Mrs J Felton Lane of Hearne married John Massey Gatling at St Andrew's church in Bryan by Rev Randolph Ray. They left for Caldwell after a rice sprinkled ceremony with many relatives and the bride praised as graceful and accomplished. Gatling described as a successful Central Texas drugstore chain owner with Caldwell as headquarters.

Frances George aged nine held her first recital Tuesday afternoon at her teacher Mrs. Bivin’s home. The music room shimmered with ferns and daisies as Frances helped receive guests. Rebecca Silverman performed several selections, and Frances, after nine months of study, has memorized nine pieces and appeared dainty in white with pink ribbons.
