Calvert Clinic Open House This Sunday Afternoon

Calvert and Robertson County residents are invited to the Calvert Clinic open house Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Railroad Street west of City Hall. The centrally heated facility offers waiting rooms, four treatment rooms, a laboratory and x ray equipment, and a recovery room. Dr. Robert L. Peters and his wife, a nurse, can handle emergencies, minor surgery and obstetrical care. The clinic will then operate Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9 to 5 and Thursday and Saturday 9 to 12.

Floyd S. Rood drives a coast to coast divot derby to publicize the Floyd S. Rood Youth in Sports Foundation. A Louisiana golf pro, he aims to help juvenile delinquents with training and build playgrounds, while film crews document the cross country stunt for charity. He began in Santa Barbara on January 15 and reached Hearne on June 29, delaying 87 days due to a spider bite and other setbacks.

Hearne P Z Panel Schedules Zone 3 Meeting July 14

The Hearne Planning and Zoning Commission will meet Zone 3 residents at City Hall on Tuesday night July 14 at 7 30 pm to discuss recommendations for improvement and development of their residential area. Hearne residents Jack Britton Jr Tom Mooney Jr and Penny Sealone join Bremond's Jack Black and Franklin's Charles Lincecum. Conference July 9 in Austin aims to curb Texas youth crime with workshop sessions and a youth talent show featuring Sealone.
