Fort Worth operates a free milk and ice fund to aid the poor during summer. Public spirited citizens and organizations contribute to provide nourishment and nursing care to families in poverty, with a trained nurse overseeing sick residents in poverty districts. The effort is framed as a strong community charity showing hope for the city’s future.
A call to join Miss Philathea in a spirit filled campaign of faith and cheer. The text urges participants to fight for victory in Christ, spread good tidings, and brighten the world, ending with a spirited chant of Rah Rah Philathea.
Mrs. P. T. Calloway hosted Friday evening in compliment to the Philatheas and Baracas of the First Baptist Sunday School. Yellow and red nasturtiums provided color as baskets vases and bowls filled with blooms. A goodly number attended and much music was rendered with the two classes exchanging yells after the National Hymn. A delicious cream and cake course followed as guests departed saying they had spent a very enjoyable evening.
Rev McGee and family plan Tuesday departure from Mineola Texas for a month long vacation granted by unanimous church vote. He will detour to Norman to attend the district quarterly conference before joining his family.
