Miss E. Baker Dies In Houston
Miss Estella Baker aged 78 died in Houston at 8 30 p m Wednesday January 4 born in Polk County but lived most of life in Robertson County and in Franklin the last years she was a Baptist church member Funeral services were held at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church at 2 p m Friday January 6 with Rev Jones officiating and burial followed in Mount Pleasant Cemetery she is survived by many nephews and nieces.

Combat Badge Awarded to Pfc Edward L. Carey in Vietnam
Pfc Edward L. Carey 20 of Calvert received the Combat Infantryman’s Badge in December at Tuy Hoa Vietnam after meeting the eligible 30 days of hostile contact. He serves in Company B Third Battalion Fourth Infantry Division as a grenadier. Carey is the son of Mr and Mrs Ennis Carey of RFD 1 Calvert and enlisted in December 1965 after graduating from Love High School Bremond in 1964.
