End of Texas Prison System Moves Forward
The Texas prison system closed Friday after Mrs. J. J. Wing of San Antonio, chairwoman of the prison advisory board, approved the discharge of nineteen officials and guards. Names include Commissioner Werring, N. Y.T. Thornton, and several wardens and guards. Wing stated no prejudice and noted a deformed guard who once pointed a pistol at her.
