Gause Comings And Goings

Mrs Wanda Lee Bud Walker spent two days last week in the hospital in Hearne after a fall at work. Sunday guests in the home of Mr and Mrs Alfred Coats, Sherri, Ray and Kevin were Mr and Mrs Vernon Mills, Jarri and Kitty and Mrs Reed Ogden of Houston, Mr and Mrs David Wilkins, Beverly, Kay, J D and Diana, Mrs J A Ely Jr and Bill Hull. Mr and Mrs Claude Lagrone celebrated their wedding anniversary last week with dinner in Brenham. They visited in Somerville with Mr and Mrs Earl Bessler and Miller, Mr and Mrs Garland Hux and Staci vf Cameron spent Sunday with Mr and Mrs Cecil Butler. Staci remained for several days visit with her grandparents, Mrs Wayne Lee, Craig and Kelly visited in Milano last Tuesday with Mr and Mrs Roy Gene Miller, Beverly, Kay and J D Wilkins hosted a Valentine party for about 30 friends Friday night. Valentines were exchanged and refreshments served. Mrs David Wilkins and Mr and Mrs Alfred Coats were chaperones. Each class at the hause school held a Valentine party last Friday afternoon. Craig and Kelly Lee visited in Hearne last Thursday with Mrs Wayne Albright. Mrs Sarah Bowling spent several days last week in Bryan with her brother's families. Weekend visitors included Mr and Mrs Frank Ivey of Buffalo and Maurice Bowling of Pitkin La for funeral of Grover Todd. Visitors remained several days. Visitors over the weekend at the home of Mr and Mrs Alex Kormegay included Mr and Mrs Earl Morgan and Shirley, Mr and Mrs Tim Stiff and Mrs Jenne Fenton, Donna and Kirk of Granby, and Mr and Mrs Ronny Morgan of Tulsa Okla.

Citizen of the Week: Ray Pack of Somerville

Ray Pack, son of Mr and Mrs R E Dewvall of Hearne, named citizen of the week by Somerville residents. He is vice president and director at Citizens State Bank of Somerville, a city council member, and active in American Legion Rotary Club Chamber of Commerce and Boy Scout work. Pack, born in Franklin and raised in Hearne, is a former Hearne High School athlete and Blinn Junior College graduate who taught at Somerville High School. He helped organize Little League baseball in Somerville and played softball with Bryan and Brenham teams. He is married to Ima Jean Heine, with one son Robby, and attends First Baptist Church of Somerville.

Nancy Lena Decherd 87 of Franklin died Wednesday February 11 in a Hearne hospital. Services were held Friday at the First United Methodist Church Franklin with Rev Cliff Bailey officiating.
