Adrift on raft after shipwreck off Georgia coast tale
Aboard the barkentine Ethel V. Boynton during a January hurricane off the Georgia coast, mate Charles E. Olsen and 12 others, including Capt G W Waldemar’s wife and niece Gladys Lartock, survived six days on wreckage and lifelines after a tidal surge tore the deck. They were rescued by steamship Manzanillo and taken to Santiago hospital. the skipper and wife proceed to Mobile.
