A group of thirty business men met Wednesday afternoon to study forming a Hearne Country Club and named committees to explore all aspects. A goal of 150 to 200 members was set, with a second meeting planned for February 17 at the high school auditorium. A. subscription renewals noted as Mrs. P. A. Reed renews for the 60th time since 1900.

Mothers March for Polio Raises Over $300 in Hearne
In Hearne last week the Mothers March total reached $318.13 for polio relief. Chairwoman Mrs. C B Thames said 311 cards were turned in from a house to house canvass. seven homes had polio, eight had defective births, and 58 had arthritis cases. Numerous volunteers assisted, and late contributors may still donate to any listed organizer.

W A Allday 67 died at his Rockdale home after a long illness. He was a pharmacist born in Owensville. Election Date Set For Two Hearne School Trustees
The Hearne School Board sets Saturday April 2 as the trustee election date to replace two incumbents Fred Ferrara and M L T Jackson whose terms expire. Filing closes March 1 at 5 pm with the Business Manager. The board also appointed a committee led by President Fred Tideman to screen superintendent applicants to replace M E Jones, who resigns June 30, 1960. Six Hearne drivers for Robertson Transport Co received safe driving honors at the Bryan company meeting on January 30. Local manager J. L. Bell acted as master of ceremonies and introduced C. K.
