Judge Cannon Granted Writ of Habeas Corpus
Rusk Texas December 9 Applica tor before the District Court here for a writ of habeas corpus by Judge O D Cannon confined in the State penitentiary on a murder charge. He was sent to the penitentiary from Robertson County about 15 years ago with a life sentence. The writ was granted returnable December 17 at 10 o clock a m. Cannon contends the Governor pardoned him about 60 days ago and the pardon was recalled after reaching Huntsville. He argues a pardon once issued cannot be recalled until a provision is violated.
