Five DWI Charges Filed In Thanksgiving Holiday
Robertson County officers reported five DWI cases over the Thanksgiving holidays. Patrolman Freddy Forsthoff warned that drinking while driving is a serious offense if an accident occurs or a traffic stop follows. First offense is a misdemeanor with fines to 500 and up to 3 days in jail, while second offenses carry felony penalties with fines up to 5,000 and jail terms up to five years in some cases. Holidays heighten risk due to more drivers and celebrations, he said, stressing that it is illegal to combine drinking and driving.
