The refund covers four cents per gallon excise tax paid on gasoline and diesel fuel used on farms during July 1, 1962 to June 30, 1963. Fuel used by custom contractors on farms is eligible. highway travel fuel is not. Use postcard form 224 to file. forms mailed to 1962 reporters. New farmers or those without Form 2240 may obtain them from county extension agents or IRS area offices. Claims are subject to audit.
