Apartments Progress At Columbus Village Columbus Village Apartments Progress In Austin Diocese Plan

Construction on the Colum bus Village Apartments at Bradford Riley and Brown Streets is advancing with several single story units finished. The 100unit brick veneer complex targets low income families, owned by Columbus Village Charitable Trust and sponsored by the Catholic Diocese of Austin on a non profit basis, with FHA mortgage of 1 1737 00 over 40 years at 8.5 percent. Annual real and personal property taxes are about 10 000. Tenants can choose from five unit sizes ranging from one to five bedrooms with scaled subsidized rents for income limits. Regular rents run from 128 to 186 per month, with subsidies up to 70 percent for eligible incomes. Amenities include gas ranges, electric refrigerators, central heat, coin laundry, and a 3 580 square foot community building on site.
