In Alameda County, state highway patrol officers joined Hayward police sheriffs and shore patrol to stop 3019 cars at highway barricades Sunday night. San Jose Bride-to-Be Killed in Head-On Crash

A San Jose woman Grace Alvinuy 3 was killed en route to her wedding after a head-on collision near Ply Grove Saturday. Investigators said her fiancé Dumes Jones 41 of San Jose was seriously injured. another driver Charles Taylor Lyn Grove was recovered. Highway patrol said the couple were driving toward Sacramento when their car collided as a vehicle pulled onto the highway from a side road. Jones sustained minor injuries.

A man identified as acavenaW, OG, died from burns when a garage explosion at Alameda destroyed the family garage. His wife Beateles sustained first and second degree burns on arms and legs while attempting to aid him. police were told she tried to push him to safety during the blast.

Car Tips Over Youth Held On Drunk Charge

A 16 year old Hayward boy is in the Oakland Detention Home after the car he drove tipped over at Meek and Park Streets. Police Chief George Forth says drunk driving charges may follow, as the car carried four or five friends. The youth admitted driving around Hayward all day and consuming wine found in the vehicle. No one was injured. a 16 year old girl was treated at Hayward hospital for a shoveled injury before being returned to her parents.

Paper Boy Is Nipped By Buchland's Dog

Victor Galbraith, 12, was bitten on the calf while delivering Sunday papers. His father, Victor Galbraith Sr., of 19472 Parsons, told local sheriffs the dog, owned by Cecil Buckland of 9257 Silviera Lane, nipped him as he rode by on a bicycle. Buckland agreed to keep the dog chained for a one day observation period.

Rape Charge Filed Against Oakland Man After Alleged Abduction

Gloria Mary Orcutt, 18, of 21462 Redwood Rel, accused Cheltgaphee C. McLemore, 60 Vth St, Oakland, of statutory rape. Orcutt initially claimed forced entry but later testified they met at Top Hat tavern on Foothill Blvd and rode together. McLemore was arrested in Daly City and held for arraignment in Hayward Justice Court Wednesday.

Five Small Boys Treated For Vandalism Incidents

Two juvenile vandalism reports surfaced in Hayward over the weekend. A fire started by two 12 year old boys damaged a hen house owned by Manuel Martin. Sheriff William Wolters said the blaze began in a ditch behind the coop and spread to the building. Martin refused to sign a complaint but asked that authorities warn the youths and inform their parents. A second report from Adeline Rejay described three boys aged 9, 7, and 12 who cut her dog, toppled a mailbox, broke a back screen door, and entered the kitchen threatening her child. The lads confessed and were cited to the juvenile probation office for parental action.

John Rivear 38 of Santa Clara Ave arrested Sunday on drunken driving appeared and was held for sentence tomorrow. Jesse L. Taxi Owners Warned to Stop Fight in Hayward

Chief of Police George Porthe warned owners W. D. Nichols, 22941 Yolo St, and Raymond Gonsalves, 56 Solo St, Saturday night that their four dogs must stop. Stolen Unlocked Car Reported by Local Resident

Jack Wagle reported a unlocked car theft Sunday night from in front of 564 Castro 5t. He parked at the location before going to a movie and returned shortly before midnight to find the ignition key broken in the switch and the car unable to be locked. Asleep At Wheel Man Wrecks Car Escapes Unhurt

LeRoy Edwin Johnson reports he fell asleep at the wheel and escaped uninjured after his car crashed on East 14th Street in Ashland. Johnson, who had been awake since five, climbed from the wreckage and told Highway Patrolman Sandy Vahrenkamp he was en route home. The vehicle was reportedly completely demolished.
