Hayward California set for an annual barbecue for city employees at Memorial Park with a chicken barbecue chosen due to meat shortages. The secretary Miss Helen Alves reports to President Anthony Nunes that arrangements are complete and features Captain Louis Sica city truck driver overseeing cooking with Manuel Gig as head chef assist Paul Paterson of the police force.

Farentzen was honored on his 50th birthday last Saturday and Arthur Neudeck marked his birthday this week. Secretary John Sandoval reported 97 percent attendance over the past two weeks. Temple Crane noted the War Bond drive is $100 000 ahead of the first two days of the last drive and the club will subscribe to a $100 bond. Tausheck gave an occupational talk on Glass with samples and drawings.
