Two burglaries and one attempted burglary were reported to the Hayward sheriff's office during the weekend. Raymond G Bettencourt reported the Bear Cat club at 798 Main Street Centerville was burglarized between 1 30 am and 6 30 am yesterday. A cash register 15 and a check for 600 were taken. Entrance forced on swinging barroom doors. Joseph E Painter Jr of 20519 Cambridge Avenue said 24 was stolen from dresser drawers in his home by a burglar who unhooked the back screen door lock. The attempted burglary was at Village Variety Store in San Lorenzo Village yesterday. A step ladder was used to reach the rear window, which was broken. The burglar did not enter and was frightened away.

Weekend auto wrecks leave one dead
A Daly City man, A A Mallring, 41, died after a Saturday night crash on Highway 0 thirteen miles east of Livermore. Passengers Dorothy Mullring, 21, and others sustained minor to serious injuries. Mallring’s daughter suffered severe injuries and was hospitalized. A second accident on Centerville to Niles Road left Celestino Mantilla, 27, with minor injuries.
