The second annual rabbit show by the Pacific Coast Breeders Association runs December 1 to 9 at Native Sons Hall. Samu Korstad, secretary, reports strong entries and extensive prizes worth attention from breeders and enthusiasts across the state.
Hayward Post No 1 American Legion thanks the community for help with the Armistice Day program. The letter notes total receipts of 136 dollars and disbursements of 133.36 dollars, with a balance advanced by and returned to the Hayward Chamber of Commerce. A Reckonbacker sedan from Newman and Houston collided with a Castro Street streetcar Sunday at about 9 30 pm. One West man suffered severe facial cuts with seven stitches. the other was bruised. The streetcar sustained little damage. the sedan was wrecked and two occupants escaped serious injury. The incident likely occurred as the auto driver attempted to pass before striking the streetcar.
Mt Eden Sui defendants Nella Fornacari Dominic Atartinz John Fuccori Salo and Oreste Santucci charged with operating a still in Mt Eden district that exploded last month. Hearing adjourned to Monday December 12 due to missing witnesses. defense by Leo Sullivan and John Wentz. The raid on Santucci’s ranch-ditto premises destroyed the building and killed 250 head of cattle.
Miss Thora Themsen of Castro Valley suffered a broken leg and facial injuries when a hit and run vehicle struck her as she walked along the Castro Valley highway. Miss Emily Kebl, also of Castro Valley, sustained lesser injuries. The car halted about 200 feet away before fleeing.
Dr and Mrs Hanley and Mrs Hanley and friends were in Hayward when a car struck their vehicle at an intersection in Sacramento. The impact overturned their car and caused minor injuries. All are recovering at home. A friend drove, the other driver admitted fault. Victor Saarimen of the telephone company and Jefferson High School football team member spent the weekend in Daly City.
