Funeral Held for Infant Daughter Cotilda Barac
Funeral services were held Monday at Pratt mortuary and All Saints church for Cotilda Barac infant daughter of Mr and Mrs Domingos Barac of Box 713 Niles road. Burial followed at St Josephs cemetery. The infant died Saturday aged 10 months. Survived by sisters Mamie and Lucy and brother Lawrence. A brother Emilio Barao drowned in a gravel pit at Niles in 1922.

A Sunday afternoon blaze at 2 15 destroyed Joseph Pasquale’s barn and chicken house at 1119 D street Hayward. Fire Chief Manuel G Riggs estimated the loss at $100 attributing the cause to spontaneous combustion of hay. The alarm was the first since October 3.

Manslaughter Charge Against Driver is Made
A coroner's jury returned verdicts on two sudden deaths here. It charged an unknown driver with manslaughter in the death of James McCormack, 73, struck two weeks ago. Witnesses included R W Borneman and John Downs of the Hayward Poultry Producers’ association and Chief Louis Siva. The second case involved Andrew Mortensen. jury found he killed himself by turning on the gas in his room.
