The Key System Transit Company filed for a rehearing with the State Railroad Commission to reopen the case and present additional evidence. It objects to most commission plans, arguing rates are too low and the system value is undervalued at 29,101,603 dollars, claiming the valuation is unsupported.
United Press reports a 15 year old youth, Jack Englefield, escaping custody on a moving train near Los Angeles by leaping from a washroom window. He had been en route to Whittier to serve a robbery sentence under guard of Snerui Cottenham. Englefield vanished as officers broke into the room.
John Mannerstam, central figure in an alleged international arms smuggling plot, was expected to surrender today to Alameda county authorities. He denies illegal activity, stating as Pacific Arms head he had a legal right to store arms at his Albany home. Officials say he has communicated with Guillermo Rosas, alleged Mexican revolutionist agent, and he is on a $5000 bond for shipping arms from San Pedro to Mexico.

Tomorrow Hayward Theatre presents Spanish Romance featuring Bebe Daniels in a daring duel filled melodrama. Manager Hoorwitz touts it as one of the year’s great pictures and Daniels calls it her best. A glamorous heroine and action promise strong crowds.
Hayward boxer Billy Liner stopped Milton Wilkinson in the first round at the El Cerrito Athletic Club show. Liner delivered a rapid ten count with a sweeping right to finish Wilkinson, who was groggy as he left the ring. Liner, praised for build and speed, is seen as a promising young talent by Hayward fans. The night also featured veteran Gene Cline losing to Chick Roach in another main event bout.
Peter Decoto reports Decoto has raised its full Boy Scout support quota and funds are in the book.
