Robert Nead of 22061 Mapleland avenue was taken to Hayward hospital after his car struck a BP G and B power pole at Hesperian boulevard and College streets in San Lorenzo. He said he swerved to avoid an oncoming car. Orly Overtert of 18095 Via Del Sol San Lorenzo assisted. Three Camp Shoemaker servicemen were injured in a separate crash when the other car rear ended theirs. Injured were Harkin Gordis Ernest Dunn and Shirley Boyd, all taken to Camp Shoemaker hospital. Cause unknown.
