Two Are Killed Father Shot Self Over Daughter Boy Friend
In Medford Oregon a log cabin near the city saw a mother and daughter slain and the father die by his own hand after opposing his daughter’s correspondence with a soldier boyfriend. The 47 year old James Porter Jasper is said to have set the house ablaze before firing a final shot as his son watched. The mother Dollie May Jasper 44 and daughter Mildred Lou Jasper 18 were found dead in another room. The 10 year old son James Jasper Jr described the scene and the family’s volatile dispute over the girl’s relationship as an explanation for the tragedy. The two younger sons are in military service. Police believe the father burned the house and killed himself, but could not rule out the possibility that the daughter was killed first.
