New Hotel Site Deal Reported Under Way Here
Reports indicate a large hotel may be erected on the Robert F Bucknam property at 329 Castro street in Hayward with outside capitalists in negotiation. The site between the Chevrolet garage and the T and D service station measures about 153 by 700 feet and could spur the opening of Melvin court and connection to Watkins street as expansion of the business district.

March Hurt In Auto Accident Near Alvarado
Frederick J. March state nursery inspector for this district is in Alameda sanitarium with a fracture in his right leg after a collision between his car and Eugene Bull of Baynard near Alvarado Friday evening. Both cars were badly damaged. A separate weekend collision near Centerville involved a San Jose salesman and a Southern Pacific freight train, leaving the driver badly hurt and hospitalized.
