Castro Valley June 8 Mrs Marie Jund Valle Vista P T A won a 25 cash prize offered by the California Oregon Congress of Parents and Teachers for the highest percentage of subscriptions to the official magazine Parent Teacher She could not attend the state convention in Los Angeles and was represented by Mrs J W Anderson who also received a prize as federation publications chair Mrs Anderson learned of her award only before departing for Los Angeles Two other prizes went to San Diego Ninth District and Sacramento Third District The East Alameda County Federation praised Hayward for its achievements at the Los Angeles convention and Mrs A Waller federation president will report at the June 15 meeting

Daughtes Elect New Officers of Hayward Parlor
Hayward Native Daughters of the Golden West elected officers for the year led by Past President Alice Gatling and President Henrietta Dobbei. Delegates were chosen to attend the grand parlor in Modesto the week of June 1925 with installation planned for the July meeting. Laura Frank joined as a new member at the meeting. A Fiesta Rodeo parade plan was discussed and a committee appointed.

Oregon College Hatch Results Show Mixed Poultry Yields
The Corvallis Poultry Department reports 1927 hatch results with 3.2 percent hatch from 2529 Plymouth Rock eggs and 6.42 percent from 2231 eggs for other breeds. Fertility ranges around 87.7 to 91.5 percent with notable hatch rates in bred lines and culling aimed at improving egg production and broodiness.
